Candle Care

~ To prevent fire, do not leave burning candles unattended. Do not place burning candles on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets. Burn within sight ~

Let's talk about how to give your candles some TLC and keep them burning beautifully:

1. The First Burn Matters: When you first light your candle, make sure to let it burn for long enough to create a full melt pool (liquid wax reaching the edges). This usually takes about 1-2 hours for every inch in diameter. It sets the stage for an even burn throughout the candle's life.

2. Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This prevents the flame from getting too big, reduces soot, and ensures an even, clean burn.

3. Avoid Drafts: Keep your candle away from drafts, like open windows or fans. Drafts can cause uneven burning and even extinguish the flame.

4. Center the Wick: If your candle has multiple wicks, ensure they are all centered and spaced evenly to encourage an even burn. If its even slightly off to the side, it will burn uneven.

5. Burn Time: Don't burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. This helps prevent overheating and extends the candle's life.

6. Extinguish Properly: Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame to prevent the wick from smoking or moving. Avoid dipping the wick into the melted wax.

7. Keep the Wax Pool Clean: Remove any debris, matches, or wick trimmings from the wax pool to prevent them from catching fire.

8. Store Candles Safely: When not in use, store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading and melting. The direct sun can change the color of your wax.

9. Reuse or Recycle: Once your candle is burned to about half an inch from the bottom, it's time to consider it spent. Don't worry; you can clean out the container and reuse it for storage, plants, or other decorative purposes. Alternatively, recycle the glass or container if possible.

By following these simple steps, you'll maximize the life of your candles and enjoy their lovely scents to the fullest. Plus, it's a great way to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your home! 🕯️✨
